The final shortlist of the Sub36 Awards has been announced, highlighting the achievements of employees and entrepreneurs making waves in businesses throughout Lancashire.

From fresh faces at the very beginning of their careers through to (relatively) more experienced individuals who have already begun to establish their reputations, ten categories are packed with finalists within reach of a sought-after trophy.

The Sub36 Awards, hosted by Lancashire Business View, honour the most innovative, hard-working and creative heroes of the red rose economy.

Winners will be announced at a prize-giving ceremony at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on October 18. One individual from each category will earn major kudos, a winner’s trophy and exclusive mentoring through the Northern Mentoring Programme.

But first, all finalists must present their case to a panel of judges. A fully fledged judging day will take place at Ewood Park in Blackburn on September 27 where each shortlisted individual will make a presentation and answer questions from the judges.

This panel, consisting of local business figures and sponsors, will then select their worthy winners - which will be kept secret until the big night in October.

Richard Slater, publisher of Lancashire Business View and founder of the Sub36 Awards, said: “The response to these awards has been fantastic. We revitalised the concept, with a new name, a more social format and even better prizes, and the response has been magnificent – there were so many good entries we decided to increase the number of finalists from the usual four per category to six!”

“Our job is to promote everything that’s great about Lancashire, and with so many incredible apprentices, employees and entrepreneurs across the county - all under the age of 36 - we’re going to have a great deal to be making noise about for a long time to come!”

John French, managing director of Fat Media and headline sponsor of the Sub36 awards 2018, said “It was fantastic to see such a large number of submissions this year, but, it did make selecting the finalists very difficult for the judges. The many submissions demonstrated that there are hundreds of truly talented young people in Lancashire who are all making waves in their industries. The finalists should feel very proud and I wish you all the best of luck at the interviews.”

Sub36 Award Winners

Jaydee Davis, operations manager of Northern Mentoring Programme and mentoring partner of the Sub36 awards 2018 “The talent and calibre of our Lancashire businesses are something to be very proud of and certainly made shortlisting a very tough job. The additional mentoring available to this year’s winners will now be able to support our winners even further in the next stage of their already exciting career and/or business. We can’t wait to watch everyone’s journey.”

Tickets for the awards are now on sale for just £45 +VAT. Not only is this a chance to recognise the finalists and winners, the evening is the culmination of the 2018 Sub36 networking series and open to all.
