First Hire Readiness Workshop

Taking on your first employee is one of the biggest milestones in growing a business - but knowing when you’re actually ready can be difficult.

Recruitment specialist and business consultant Laura Hartley is hosting a free online First Hire Readiness Workshop on 15 September, aimed specifically at freelancers, sole traders and solo business owners who are reaching the point where doing everything themselves is no longer sustainable.

Drawing on more than 25 years in recruitment, Laura will help attendees explore the questions that often stop business owners from taking that next step, including:

• Can I actually afford to employ someone?
• What will my first employee really cost?
• Do I need an employee or would a freelancer be better?
• What role should I hire first?
• What do I need to have in place before I recruit?
• How do I avoid making an expensive first-hire mistake?
