Thwaites’ tropical pale ale, Paradise No.3, has won a Silver Award at the International Brewing Awards 2026.
Mark O’Sullivan, head brewer at Mellor Brook based Thwaites, said: “It’s a proud moment knowing that our beer that’s brewed in our small corner of England has been recognised globally.
“Paradise No.3 is a fantastic beer - it’s refreshing with flavours of mango and pineapple, and a firm favourite across our pubs, inns and hotels up and down the country.”
The International Brewing Awards have a 140-year history and are considered the oldest international beer competition in the world.
The awards ceremony will take place later this month in Manchester, where Mark and his colleagues will celebrate the success.
Founded in 1807, Thwaites is an independent, family-run hospitality business with a proud heritage of nearly 220 years.
From its origins as a regional brewer with just 10 public houses, it has evolved into a collection of award-winning hotels, country inns, and spas across the UK.
