Eden Project has opened recruitment to two new senior positions - head of site and horticulture curator - to shape the new Eden Project Morecambe, set to open in 2028.

The head of site will be responsible for the operational heartbeat of Eden Project Morecambe, tasked to drive commercial success, champion operational excellence, contribute to strategic planning and support the overall site development.

This position will oversee Eden Project Morecambe’s natural and built environments that shape the £100m visitor destination. They will also be responsible for designing proactive strategies to engage people and communities from Morecambe and Lancashire, working closely with stakeholders from across the region.

The horticulture curator will provide an opportunity for those with specialist horticultural expertise to provide strategic leadership for the gardens, landscapes and living collections. They will develop the ambitious horticultural plans for Eden Project Morecambe as it becomes a theatre for nature, much like the celebrated Eden Project in Cornwall renowned for its iconic rainforest and Mediterranean biomes.

Different from Cornwall site, Eden Project Morecambe will feature two uniquely designed shell inspired structures overlooking and complimenting the stunning Morecambe Bay. The Realm of the Sun and the Realm of the Moon structures will showcase the rhythms of the natural world told through mesmerising storytelling, art installations, interactive exhibits, performances and striking plants and gardens.

The two new roles will join the project director and the growing Eden Project Morecambe team based at Morecambe Town Hall, with candidates expected to bring a proven track record of delivery and innovation.

John Pye, Eden Project Morecambe’s project director, said: “Eden Project Morecambe requires talented, highly skilled people who are passionate about playing their part in shaping a new world class destination the UK can be proud of.

“The depth of local talent and capability in Morecambe and the surrounding area is exceptional, and we are eager to hear directly from people here or encourage them to share these roles across their networks.

“As a charity focused on delivering impact, we’re offering these transformational job opportunities and want candidates from the local area and across the North West to grab their chance to apply.

“We truly hope people with the right skills and experience living locally or within reach in the region step forward. Now really is the most exciting time to join the Eden Project Morecambe team!”

Eden Project is working in partnership with Lancaster City Council, Lancashire County Council and Lancaster University and is supported by government investment to deliver a project that is on track to fully open in 2028.
