The Burnley business community came together this week to mark International Women’s Day at a special event organised by Burnley.co.uk.
The event saw members of Burnley Bondholders meeting for an engaging and impactful session focused on women’s health in the workplace.
The event featured guest speaker Emma Neville, founder of This Is Me, who delivered a powerful and thought-provoking talk at Crow Wood Hotel addressing menopause awareness, wider women’s health issues and the importance of fostering open, supportive workplace cultures.
Emma encouraged attendees to lead positive change within their organisations by normalising conversations around women’s health and ensuring colleagues feel understood and supported.
Emma said: “It’s clear there’s a strong and supportive business community here in Burnley.
"I founded This Is Me to open up honest conversations and help break the stigma surrounding menopause and other issues that impact women.
"Events like today are so important in building understanding, so people feel better equipped to support their colleagues and create more inclusive workplaces.”
Rachel Bayley, Burnley Place Brand Manager said: “Burnley businesses have so many strong women at the heart of their organisations, so it felt important to host this event and highlight the health issues that impact so many women across the workforce.
"Emma’s story was truly inspiring, and everyone in the room will have taken away valuable insights and practical tips they can use both personally and in the workplace.”
The event provided an opportunity for Burnley Bondholders to connect, reflect and gain practical insight into how businesses can create more inclusive environments that enable women to thrive.
