Tangerine Group is preparing to unveil proposals for a £20m project in Wrea
Green, including a new Global Headquarters at Greenlands Farm and a substantial
upgrade of The Villa, which they purchased in October last year.
Tangerine Group is a Fylde-based family business specialising in the manufacture and sales of products developed to improve the health and welfare of companion animals, founded in 1995 by David Haythornthwaite over the last 30 years, has grown into an international organisation whose products are now recommended by veterinary professionals in 50 countries.
The proposed headquarters at Greenlands Farm would repurpose a former
agricultural site, creating a purpose-built campus for the Veterinary Division designed to support innovation, collaboration and future growth and would allow the company to relocate from its current HQ in Lytham keeping the business in the Fylde area.
Alongside the new HQ, the Group is also investing in The Villa, helping secure its long term future.
The proposals include a new 25 meter swimming pool, additional rooms
and state of the art lecture theatre, and will become the Centre of Excellence for
VetPlus, housing it’s VetPlus Academy, which will provide dedicated training, teaching and conference space.
David Haythornthwaite, chairman of Tangerine Group, said: “The Fylde has always been home for Tangerine Group, and we are proud to continue investing in the community where the business began.
“Over the past three decades we have grown from a disused builders yard in
Freckleton into a company whose products are trusted by vets in 50 countries across the globe.
“As we will shortly outgrow our existing site in Lytham, this new investment will create a new global centre of excellence for veterinary innovation and training here in the Fylde, while protecting jobs and opening up more opportunities in the area.
“We look forward to sharing more details of the plans in the coming weeks and
encourage the local community to get involved and share their views.”
It comes after it was reported by Lancashire Business View in September last year that the Haythornthwaite family bought the iconic leisure venues, The Villa, through their property investment company Dixon Grange for £3.6m.
Further details of the proposals, including a community consultation ahead of plans being submitted to Fylde Council, will be available in the coming weeks.
