Confectionery business Stockley’s has shown its long-term ambitions with a move to a new site in Burnley.
Mark Adcock, managing director, said the handcrafted sweet maker had ‘outgrown’ its 21,000 sq ft home on Shadsworth Industrial Estate in Blackburn – its base for the past 15 years.
The business has moved to a new 60,000 sq ft site on Chestnut Business Park in Burnley and the 107-year-old company has invested more than £1m in the move.
Mark says it was ‘imperative that a business enjoying positive growing pains was both willing and able to take the next step to a new, purpose-built facility that could fulfil its significant growth ambitions; whilst staying true to the business’ proud Lancashire roots.’
The 10-mile move from Blackburn to Burnley has meant that Stockley’s has retained its team and has ensured they remain at centre of its bold growth plans.
The move was completed in three months and the new facility became operational in September.
Mark added: “The new site in Burnley provides the space we need to both operate more efficiently as well as continue our long-term growth plan.
“We wanted to stay true to time-honoured confectionery traditions and handcrafted production methods that are central to our distinct reputation.
“Stockley’s remains a proud custodian of quality fayre, classic sweet shop favourites and compelling flavour twists that hark back to simpler times and we hope it will be for years to come.”
