Children from Downholland Haskayne CE Primary School in Ormskirk enjoyed an educational visit to Bellway Homes' Lydiate Gate development.
Andy Sharpe, Bellway's site manager at Lydiate Gate, welcomed the pupils and led a tour of the development, showcasing homes at different stages of construction.
The visit gave the children an insight into the housebuilding process, from concrete foundations and timber frames through to completed watertight properties.
The highlight of the site visit for the pupils, aged between six and 11, was the bricklaying lesson, with each of the nine children trying their hand at this particular trade.
Jenny Bell, sales director at Bellway, said: “We really enjoy hosting school site visits as the children love to learn about construction and what happens on a building site.
“It’s great to show them how Bellway, a five star rated housebuilder, delivers award-winning homes of all different sizes and styles.”
David Swindells, headteacher at Downholland Haskayne CE Primary School, said: “I was keen to bring children to Lydiate Gate to learn more about construction, health and safety on live building sites and the various roles involved in housebuilding, so was delighted when Bellway offered to host a tour of the development.
“It was a superb trip and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
“The bricklaying lesson was a wonderful experience, one I am sure they will talk about for a while to come.”
There is currently a collection of three and four bedroom homes available, with prices starting from £309,995. For further information, visit www.bellway.co.uk/new-homes/north-west/lydiate-gate.
