Dragons’ Den star Derry Green will take centre stage as a speaker at Lancashire Business Day.
Lancashire Business View’s social event of the year will once again mark and celebrate #LancashireDay for the business community on November 27 at Burnley Football Club.
Derry shot to fame on social media during lockdown creating a pod in his garden for his children and it turned into a glamping business in Skelmersdale.
He appeared on the BBC hit show Dragons' Den in 2024 and his story prompted Dragon Deborah Meaden to invest in his business for a five per cent stake.
The Secret Garden Glamping founder also has a site in Cornwall and recently opened another in Devon and he was on the cover of the March/April edition of Lancashire Business View.
He said: “It’s a real privilege to be involved in Lancashire Day with Lancashire Business View.
“Lancashire has such an incredible community of businesses and people and it’s always a pleasure to celebrate everything that makes our county so special.
“I’m proud to be able to share my journey and play a part in showcasing what Lancashire has to offer.”
‘Now that’s what I call Lancashire 2025’ is the theme for the afternoon at Burnley Football Club as the magazine looks back at the last 12 months and the county’s big business hits of the year.
Derry will be joined as a speaker by Pauline Wild, managing partner of Forbes Solicitors, and Elizabeth Porter from Brysdales and both have appeared on our front pages in 2025.
Pauline, who was on the cover of the May/June edition of Lancashire Business View, said: “I really enjoy attending the Lancashire Day event with Lancashire Business View because it celebrates the collaboration, innovation, and community spirit that make the county’s business network so strong.
“Lancashire is a special place to do business, it has a special energy and a genuine way of businesses supporting each other’s growth and success.”
Dave Walker, managing director of digital agency +24, has also been confirmed in the line-up.
New speakers for the event include Tom Myers of Eco Providers, Ellie Smith of Anthem Engagement and Lucas Thornley of Cortus Advisory Group.
Tom Myers said: “Lancashire has such pride and community spirit, and that’s something I’ve always tried to reflect in my business.
“I’m passionate about supporting local suppliers and talent there’s so much creativity right here on our doorstep and it means a lot to give back and help people locally that’s what makes Lancashire great!”
The event will also see the presentation of the 2025 Lancashire Business View Personality of the Year Award, who will be announced on the day.
Rossendale-based +24 is returning as Lancashire Business Day’s headline partner for the third year running.
Patrons for the event include accountants and business advisors Beever and Struthers, part of Menzies LLP, East Lancashire Learning Group and commercial heating and cooling engineering company, Vital Synergy.
The charity partner for the event is Lancashire Mind, an independent charity whose staff, trustees and volunteers are passionate about making a difference to the mental health of people living and working in Lancashire.
Tickets for the event cost £80+VAT, pair of tickets is £150+VAT and a table of 10 is £710+VAT.
