Preston City Council has announced that the Tram Bridge will officially open to the public on Friday 22 May.
The original tram bridge was closed in February 2019 due to serious safety concerns.
Seven years on, the bridge over the River Ribble has been completely rebuilt and transformed into a modern 130-metre landmark, designed for people to enjoy and use for generations to come.
The bridge will serve as a bridleway, as well as for pedestrians, and cyclists.
Eric Wright Civil Engineering team started work on the 140 tonne bridge in December following the reimagining of this historic crossing.
The team assembled the 75-metre-high crane and all four bridge sections arrived from Harrisons Engineering.
The replacement Tram Bridge has been delivered by Preston City Council using part of its £20m grant awarded by the UK Government, with an additional £1m from Lancashire County Council.
The bridge will reconnect the north and south side of the River Ribble.
