The Northern Community Bank has announced that it will open its new £2.5m headquarters in Burnley later this month.
The community bank, which operates across east Lancashire, Preston, and Lancaster, is moving into a building on Manchester Road that was formerly a Wetherspoons pub.
Formerly known as Pennine Community Credit Union, it is relocating to a building that was once the Brun Lea pub, which closed in 2019. The new branch is set to open on June 15.
Northern Community Bank is a not-for-profit financial co-operative and ethical lender, owned by its account holders.
Its team supports more than 17,000 people and it says the new headquarters will allow different departments to work more collaboratively under one roof.
Tia Warbrick, the bank’s chief operating officer, said: “This is going to be a welcoming, purpose-built hub, where new or existing account holders can manage their accounts.”
Readstone Construction have been working to lay the foundations for the new chapter in the bank's history.
