Boost partners with private sector leaders on funded resilience support

A range of fully funded business support initiatives aimed at boosting Lancashire business leaders’ resilience have been made available through Boost; Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub.

Resilience Networks offers Lancashire business owners and managers a range of different support options delivered by some of Lancashire’s most renowned private sector providers. They all focus on building resilience and include sales coaching, finance advice and mental wellbeing support for male leaders.

The programme is being delivered in partnership with Boost; Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub and is fully funded by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy. Partners include Forbes Solicitors and finance experts The F Word.

County Councillor Michael Green, cabinet member for economic development, environment and planning, Lancashire County Council, said: “Over the past year, Lancashire’s business leaders have been constantly tested through the huge impact of Covid-19 and uncertainty regarding Brexit.

“Lancashire County Council has made funds available throughout this period to help them weather the storm, but we also want to support Lancashire business owners and managers to build more resilient companies so they are better prepared for future challenges.

“Through Resilience Networks, Boost will partner with experts across a variety of business sectors to deliver specialist support to help businesses overcome challenges and help create long-term economic growth.”

Boost is Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub. It is led by the Lancashire LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership) and Lancashire County Council and supported by funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as well as Lancashire County Council funds.

Boost also utilises Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy funds to support businesses.

The type of support offered through Resilience Networks varies by partner and includes events, one to one coaching, workshops and other support including podcast series.

The majority of the support networks currently available have already begun and will continue until March, with more support likely to be added to Resilience Networks over the coming weeks.

Andrew Leeming, programme manager, Boost added: “Building business and leadership resilience is more important than ever before.

“Through Resilience Networks, we have partnered with some of the county’s most well-known and experienced business experts who will help the county’s business leaders through whatever challenges they currently face and help them build a sustainable, resilient business.”

“We have chosen partners who can help us reach new businesses that haven’t engaged with the Growth Hub’s support before so we can deliver maximum benefits across the Lancashire economy.

“In addition to Resilience Networks, Boost is working with a range of private sector experts on peer learning programmes, Brexit advice and other support. Whatever issues you’re facing, get in touch for a conversation with Boost as your first step and find out how we can help.”

The partners currently providing support through the Resilience Networks programme are: Forbes Solicitors; Geeky Group; lovelocalsolutions with the Federation for Small Business; Pink Link Ladies; Sales Geek; The F Word; APD Resolutions; Imperative Solutions and Essentialise.
