Fast-growing Lancashire-based Alcedo Care Group is reporting another year of huge growth.

For the last three consecutive years, the top-rated home care provider has grown its turnover by an average of 98 per cent and, as forecast, has successfully grown its turnover once again by 94 per cent to £15m (for the year ending 31 March 2022).

With turnover at a current run rate of well over £20m, Alcedo Care Group is also on track to achieve its forecast for the year ending March 2023.  The increase in turnover has not been achieved at the expense of profitability; Alcedo’s EBITDA has increased to around 10 per cent.

Under the guidance of husband and wife team, Andy and Jo Boardman, the family-run business has demonstrated considerable success in recent months, expanding at pace from with new service offerings, the opening of new offices and the recruitment of more than 350 talented care professionals.

Six new Alcedo offices have opened in the last 12 months alone, representing an investment of £1.2m for the ambitious home care provider and bringing its total number of offices across the region to 11 with 15 different business streams. Furthermore, it has continually responded to market demands with the introduction of new services such as complex care and live-in care.

To deliver on the increased demand for its exceptional home care services an unprecedented recruitment drive is underway with the care group aiming to appoint more than 1,000 people in 2022 (a rate of 10 per office per month).

Significant expansion and growth will continue over the course of the next three years, with Alcedo on track to increase annual turnover to £60m, increase annual client care hours from 1m to 2.5m and to continue to grow its team by at least 1,000 annually.

Once again recognised as one of the Top 20 home care groups in the UK for the third year running, managing director at Alcedo Care, Andy Boardman commented: “More and more people are choosing to be cared for in their own homes, rather than move into traditional residential care facilities, which has resulted in a huge increase in demand for home care services and a period of sustained growth for us which will continue.

“We strive to provide the very best home care services to vulnerable people right across the North West region, delivered by our passionate, caring and ever-growing professional team, and we are all committed in our goal to become the largest independent quality home care provider in the North of England by 2025.

“In order to offer great care, we need to recruit the best carers and train them to the highest standards.  We can only achieve this by paying our carers well and by investing heavily in training and innovation.  We are not the most expensive, nor are we the cheapest, but we are value for money and have grown not only a significant high quality care service but also a solid business and both elements are of equal importance to develop a sustainable business that both clients and employees can depend on.”

Established in 2017, Alcedo Care offers Domiciliary Care Services, Live-in Care, Nurse-Led Complex Care Services, Supported Living and Children’s Services and has fast gained an enviable reputation as the home care provider of choice in the North West thanks to its superb 1,000-strong team of highly skilled and compassionate carers who make a tangible difference to the quality of life of the company’s home care clients.  Enriching lives and supporting independence is Alcedo’s mission, not only for its clients but also for its employees as well.

Run by passionate husband and wife team, Andy and Jo Boardman, and with the support of their fantastic management team, the company is expanding at pace and aims to double in size over the next 12 months with the recruitment of more than 1,000 new carers.
