Businesses more than ever need agility - to constantly adapt to an ever-changing commercial environment.

And agility starts with an empowered workforce.

Knowing that organisations of all shapes and sizes need all the help they can get in an age of VUCA - volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity - one of the region's leading providers of technical and professional education has launched a school dedicated to building bulletproof businesses.

Blackpool School of Management was launched this month (September) by Blackpool and the Fylde College (B&FC) and offers a wide range of training packages helping individuals and teams thrive in uncertain times.

Study programmes range from human resources to project management, and accounting to apprenticeships - including the hugely popular Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA).

Many Blackpool School of Management courses include professional accreditation, with industry bodies including the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) and The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).

Located at B&FC's University Centre, Blackpool School of Management is the latest addition to a College which has been creating careers and helping business partners flourish for almost 130 years.

In recent years B&FC has added Lancashire Energy HQ to its campus portfolio. And supported a range of academies dedicated to industry sectors including health and social care, gaming, and hospitality and tourism.

Blackpool School of Management includes the Project Management Centre of Excellence.

Helen Roebuck (pictured), B&FC’s curriculum manager for business and enterprise, said: “In a world of constant change, the only thing that stays the same is the need to train your team for whatever the future holds.

“We have close relationships with thousands of businesses across the UK to better understand their needs which in turn shape study programmes to train today’s workforces for tomorrow’s challenges.”
