Lancashire Business Week will inspire organisations to fuel county’s recovery

The organisers of Lancashire Business Week have unveiled five key themes which will underpin the programme of events, all designed to inspire organisations to plan for a prosperous post-pandemic future.

A series of Resilience to Recovery events will take place from Monday December 6 to Friday December 10 and will feature guest speakers, panel discussions and educational sessions all organised to help businesses across Lancashire to adapt and thrive now that the economy is beginning to regain momentum.

The first four events will take place online. The first day will focus on new customers and new markets, exploring how organisations can identify and capitalise on the new opportunities created over the last 18 months.

The second day will address skills and recruitment, taking a look at bigger picture issues such as ageing workforces and bridging skills gaps, as well as actions businesses can take to advance their own workforces.

Day three will feature expert analysis on retention and engagement, focusing on the evolving needs and demands of workforces and how businesses can best engage and serve their people.

The theme of the fourth day will be managing change, and how organisations can evaluate themselves, outline their plans for the future, and how they can change and adapt to achieve these new goals, as well as the emerging demands of employees, customers and peers.

The fifth and final day will take on a more celebratory feel, with a broad heading of resilience to recovery and will be the only event to take place in person. Featuring inspiring case studies of business resilience and success drawn from the last 18 months, delegates will be encouraged to acknowledge the achievements of a most difficult period and look optimistically towards the future.

Stacey Turner, managing partner of CG Professional, headline sponsor, said: “Lancashire Business Week has become an important fixture in the business calendar and the opportunity to be sponsor made complete sense to us once again.

“CG Professional has gone from strength to strength over the past four years winning numerous national clients, but Lancashire will always remain a key focus for us and we're proud of our Lancashire roots.

“For CG to be sponsoring this celebration of the county sitting alongside some of Lancashire’s finest businesses is an honour and it's great that we can have an in-person event this year. Lancashire leads by example, and we need to be at the forefront of ensuring the economy continues to move forward at pace in Lancashire – CG are here to play our part in that."

This is the second time a week-long programme has been organised to celebrate Lancashire businesses, following in the footsteps of Lancashire Business Day, which first took place in 2017.

Richard Slater, publisher of Lancashire Business View magazine which stages Lancashire Business Week, said: “Lancashire has proven extraordinarily resilient during the pandemic, but now it is time to look forward to what comes next.

“The aim of Lancashire Business Week this year is to give organisations the tools, confidence and know-how they need to take the next step, which is recovery: identifying new opportunities and taking them, and taking your people with you.”

Andrew Leeming, senior project officer of Boost Business Lancashire, said: “Boost is proud to be working with Lancashire Business View as social media partner for Lancashire Business Week. Lancashire companies are emerging from the Covid-19 pandemic and looking toward the future and Lancashire Business Week will discuss the big issues they currently face at a critical time.

“Working together, we will use our combined networks and audiences to help the county’s firms to understand what is ahead of them. That will allow them to better capitalise on new markets, working practices and other opportunities while understanding how key issues like net zero are likely to affect them.”

Headline sponsor of Lancashire Business Week is CG Professional. Lancashire Business Week is also backed by patrons, Beever and Struthers, Bigtank, Burnley.co.uk, Burnley College, Cotton Court, Lancashire Skills Hub and Zigaflow. Venue patron is AMRC, and Lexus Preston is a supporter.
