Lancashire Business Week will inspire organisations to fuel county’s recovery

The organisers of Lancashire Business Week have unveiled five key themes which will underpin the programme of events, all designed to inspire organisations to plan for a prosperous post-pandemic future.

A series of Resilience to Recovery events will take place from Monday December 6 to Friday December 10 and will feature guest speakers, panel discussions and educational sessions all organised to help businesses across Lancashire to adapt and thrive now that the economy is beginning to regain momentum.

The first four events will take place online. The first day will focus on new customers and new markets, exploring how organisations can identify and capitalise on the new opportunities created over the last 18 months.

The second day will address skills and recruitment, taking a look at bigger picture issues such as ageing workforces and bridging skills gaps, as well as actions businesses can take to advance their own workforces.

Day three will feature expert analysis on retention and engagement, focusing on the evolving needs and demands of workforces and how businesses can best engage and serve their people.

The theme of the fourth day will be managing change, and how organisations can evaluate themselves, outline their plans for the future, and how they can change and adapt to achieve these new goals, as well as the emerging demands of employees, customers and peers.

The fifth and final day will take on a more celebratory feel, with a broad heading of resilience to recovery and will be the only event to take place in person. Featuring inspiring case studies of business resilience and success drawn from the last 18 months, delegates will be encouraged to acknowledge the achievements of a most difficult period and look optimistically towards the future.

This is the second time a week-long programme has been organised to celebrate Lancashire businesses, following in the footsteps of Lancashire Business Day, which first took place in 2017.
