Lancashire Mind are calling for local businesses to engage with the charity’s corporate training programme to support positive workplace wellbeing across Lancashire and generate vital funds for the charity’s mental health services.

As an independent mental health charity, Lancashire Mind are reliant on the generosity of community fundraising and the income generated through corporate training - especially after a significant increase in demand for its services since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

Lancashire Mind’s team of expert trainers have supported over 2500 employees this year, helping local employers to realise their key role in supporting positive mental health within the workplace.

Helen Fairweather, head of development at Lancashire Mind, said: “When you purchase a corporate training package from Lancashire Mind, not only are you helping your staff to manage their own mental health, you are also making a real difference to communities across the county.

“Unlike national training providers, any profit we do make stays within the county and is re-invested into supporting positive mental health for those living and working within Lancashire.

"When you choose to work with Lancashire Mind, you are enabling the charity to provide much needed services, which could include 1:1 support for a child or adult experiencing anxiety or low mood, or engaging with community groups to deliver mental health resilience training."

With a number of corporate packages available, Lancashire Mind staff have over 15 years of combined experience delivering corporate mental health training and workplace wellbeing services.

From managing mental health in the workplace to dealing with stress, anxiety and depression, programmes are designed to equip management staff with the necessary understanding of the important role mental health plays in the workplace, and how it can affect overall business productivity and staff retention.

In addition to training, businesses can also benefit from 1:1 or small group sessions for staff, as well as whole workforce surveys to better understand employee wellbeing.

Helen Fairweather added, “Many companies engage national partners to deliver mental health training but we are encouraging employers to look closer to home and consider Lancashire Mind.

“With the increase in demand and pressure on local communities, corporate support has never been more important. As the number of Lancashire businesses, organisations and groups we have on board grows – so does our ability to support more people and strengthen the resilience and overall wellbeing of businesses and communities across Lancashire.”
