Preston based Westinghouse's Springfields site has marked its 80th anniversary by planting 80 trees, including an oak, in Newton and Clifton.
The site, which has been manufacturing nuclear fuel since 1946, is the world's oldest continuous nuclear fuel manufacturing facility.
The trees, donated by the Woodland Trust, were planted by Springfields employees alongside parish council representatives as part of the site's year-long anniversary celebrations.
Craig Boothby, managing director of Springfields Fuels, said: "Reaching 80 years is a significant milestone not only for Springfields, but for UK nuclear fuel manufacturing.
"Because 80 years is traditionally symbolised by the oak tree, we thought planting 80 trees within our local community was a fitting way to mark the anniversary and our commitment to the people and places that have supported us for eight decades."
