NatWest has invested more than £309,000 to transform its Blackburn King William Street branch.
The bank says the refurbishment reflects its commitment to local communities and its pledge of no further branch closures until at least 2029.
The £309,676 investment has seen the branch supplied with comprehensive internal and external re‑branding, new seating areas within the banking hall, installation of a plumbed‑in water cooler, interview rooms to be refurbished with new graphics, décor and carpeting, new internal automation machines scheduled for this year and a full refurbishment of colleague welfare spaces, with renovated kitchen and toilet facilities.
Martin Smith, branch manager, said: “This significant investment reflects just how important our local community is to us. By introducing new technology and creating more welcoming spaces, we’re making banking faster, more personal and more accessible for our customers.
“We have also created a much improved working environment for our colleagues with enhanced facilities that enable them to deliver the best possible service every day. It is a space designed for everyone, for our customers and for our team.”
Sean Bowman, regional director for NatWest north, said: “Blackburn is a diverse and dynamic town with a strong local community and many customers and businesses who value face‑to‑face banking.
“We are committed to supporting that community by investing in branches like Blackburn King William Street and keeping services local. Our promise to keep our branches open until at least 2029 reflects our commitment to grow alongside the communities we serve across the North West and beyond.”
