Lancashire Business View has published its biggest and most comprehensive edition to date.

Twelve months on from our original Hot 100 listing we have revisited the business landscape to collate once more a definitive list of the region’s top performing companies.

There are many movers and shakers, with some important names dropping off the list, new names making their mark and a new number one.

Elsewhere in the issues we talk to Ged Fitzgerald, the new chief executive of Lancashire County Council who outlines his visions and the work he hopes to undertake in his new role.

We visit Ribble Valley and Hyndburn, two neighbouring areas who have experienced contrasting fortunes in recent times, yet the region with the most optimism may surprise you. A number of key entrepreneurs give their accounts and talk about what the future holds.

And with economic ‘doom and gloom’ making the headlines, we bring together some of Lancashire and Bolton’s leading figures to discuss the spending confidence they are witnessing. Do we need to batten the hatches or will our industry and drive see us through?

This bumper edition was the first for our new editor, Peter Butterfield. The former chairman of the North West Region of the Society of Editors also spent 15 years as editor of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph has taken up the hotseat.
