Ant and Dec have become shareholders at an award-winning Preston frozen dough brand.
The television celebrities are entering into a creative brand partnership with the Northern Dough Company that places them at the heart of future product and content development.
Known for its premium, restaurant quality frozen dough, the Northern Dough Company is already stocked in major UK supermarket chains such as Tesco, Morrison and Sainsbury's.
The Northern Dough Company team have an exciting growth plan that includes new product development launches across a range of product areas, and are actively looking to work with retailers to develop category-driving partnership opportunities.
Through their creative company, Mitre Studios, Ant and Dec will work closely with the brand to create original, humour-led content across social and digital platforms.
The partnership also builds on the success of their hit social series Taste Mates, which showcases the duo’s natural chemistry in the kitchen.
Founders Amy and Chris Cheadle launched The Northern Dough Company with the vision of making high-quality, sharable food more accessible, bringing people together and sharing special moments with friends and family.
Amy and Chris Cheadle said: “It’s not every day Ant and Dec’s team drop you a line to ask if you’d be interested in exploring working together, but from the very first meeting it was clear just how well their personal values aligned with ours, and how easy it would be to partner and grow our business together.
“As viewers, we’ve been entertained by Ant and Dec’s TV shows from Byker Grove as teens, to watching Takeaway and I’m a Celeb with our own children, and it’s that ethos of getting everyone together to enjoy a relaxing, feel-good experience that’s at the heart of The Northern Dough Company gathering to eat food is everyone’s favourite pastime, but cooking together to create an informal restaurant experience at home, makes it really special.
"We couldn’t be more excited that Ant and Dec have joined us to bring the experience to even more people’s homes, and we have really exciting plans for the coming months and years ahead.”
The inspiration for the business came from Chris’ four-generation long tradition in family baking.
Initially launching with a range of frozen pizza dough products at local farmers markets and food festivals, the business soon secured supermarket listings, and expanded their product range, which now includes cookie dough and ready-to-bake doughballs, as well as a range of larger format packs of pizza dough that are available through their website.
Ant says: “I love making pizzas at home with my family and was already using the Northern Dough Company when we started conversations with Amy and Chris about working with them.
"As soon as we met it was clear we had the same values and together we have some great ideas on how we can expand the business, it’s very exciting and we can’t wait to get started in our role as co-owners!”
Dec added: “We love the Northern Dough Company's ethos of celebrating the joy of eating at home and bringing people together.
"Whether it’s a pizza party with mates or a Saturday night in front of the telly with your granny, everyone can get stuck in and make delicious pizzas.
"We are excited to celebrate all things dough through our partnership and social content.”
