Tri-Site brought together professionals from the geospatial, construction, and infrastructure sectors for a day of live demonstrations, interactive learning and networking.
Set against the backdrop of landscaped gardens and tranquil lake at Crow Wood Hotel, the event offered a unique opportunity to explore the future of surveying both in action, and theory.
Live Demonstrations: Sky, Surface and Water
Throughout the day, attendees experienced hands-on demonstrations of the industry’s latest and most advanced surveying tools from CHC Nav. Tri-Site offered a deep dive into the theory and practise behind:
- GNSS sensors for accurate geospatial positioning
- The RS10 Slam Scanner for rapid mobile mapping in complex environments
- The Apache 4 unmanned surface vessel (USV), capturing real-time bathymetric data
- The X500 UAV drone, engineered for exceptional payload capacity and endurance
Each technology was demonstrated live, allowing guests to observe both field capture and back-end processing, bringing clarity to how they work in real-world environments.
Connecting Sectors, Sharing Knowledge
From engineers and surveyors to local authorities and project managers, the event brought together a wide cross-section of professionals, eager to understand how these surveying tools can help support smarter decisions and smoother projects.
The day kicked off with a relaxed networking morning, with hot drinks and pastries provided. Attendees were given the chance to meet the Tri-Site team, ask questions, and chat with peers from across the region. After two live demonstrations, lunch was served and offered a moment to refuel and continue conversations sparked by the morning's events.
This was a day to connect, learn, and share ideas across roles and industries - perfectly backed by learning new ways to improve work-flow.
Putting the Spotlight on Surveying
Ted Harland from Tri-Site said: “One of the main goals of this event was to put a spotlight on this amazing technology in the surveying industry.”
“We wanted professionals in the industry to know just exactly what is possible when you combine traditional knowledge with modern tools - and to feel confident in using these technologies on their own sites.”
What’s next for Tri-Site?
