This Sunday, Crafty Vintage returns to the Crow Wood Hotel and Spa Resort with its Christmas Markets, bringing together everything that has made the brand one of Lancashire’s most respected champions of independent makers and creative businesses.

Set within the elegant indoor spaces of Crow Wood, the event offers far more than festive shopping. It is a carefully curated experience built around skill, craftsmanship and genuine human connection, qualities that are increasingly rare in modern retail.

At the heart of the Crafty Vintage Christmas Markets are the artisans themselves. Visitors will meet makers, designers, illustrators, ceramicists, jewellers, food producers and vintage specialists, each offering work that is locally sourced, thoughtfully made and rooted in real craft. Every item has a story, whether it is shaped by hand in a Lancashire studio, baked in a small batch kitchen or sourced through years of specialist knowledge.

This focus on provenance and quality creates an experience that feels both personal and purposeful.

Shoppers are encouraged to slow down, talk to the people behind the products and discover gifts that are truly one of a kind. These are pieces made with care and intention, not mass produced replicas, making them particularly meaningful at Christmas.

Over more than 15 years, Crafty Vintage has refined this approach into what many now regard as the ultimate Christmas gift buying experience. Its Christmas Markets have supported hundreds of start ups, sole traders and creative entrepreneurs, helping independent businesses turn skill and passion into sustainable livelihoods.

Laura Johnson, director of Crafty Vintage, said: “Our markets are built around people and their skills. Every maker we work with has invested time, care and creativity into what they do, and our role is to create the right environment for them to thrive. When customers meet the maker and understand the story behind a product, it completely changes how they value it.”

What sets Crafty Vintage apart is its understanding of the commercial realities faced by small creative businesses. Events are professionally delivered and carefully curated to support traders commercially as well as creatively. Venues are chosen to enhance atmosphere, comfort and dwell time, encouraging meaningful engagement rather than rushed transactions.

The Christmas Markets at Crow Wood are a clear expression of this philosophy. Hosting the event indoors within a premium hospitality setting creates a warm, relaxed environment where both traders and visitors can enjoy the experience at their own pace.

Laura added: “Christmas shopping should feel special. At Crow Wood, we have created a space where people can take their time, enjoy the surroundings and find gifts that feel thoughtful and personal. For us, that is what Christmas markets should be about.”

As Christmas approaches, the Crafty Vintage Christmas Markets at Crow Wood Hotel and Spa offer an opportunity to shop with intention, support local talent and experience festive retail at its best.

The event takes place this Sunday, 21 December, from 10am to 4pm at Crow Wood Hotel and Spa Resort, Burnley. Entry is free, with complimentary tickets available in advance.
