Bowker Motor Group confirms new partnership with Changan

Bowker Motor Group has announced a new partnership with global vehicle manufacturer Changan, with a new dealership set to open in Preston in early 2026.

The Changan showroom will be located in the former BMW Motorrad dealership on the docks in Preston. It will showcase Changan’s full UK vehicle range.

The launch forms part of Changan’s wider expansion into the UK market and marks the brand’s debut in Lancashire.

Paul Bowker, chief executive of Bowker Motor Group, said: “We’re excited to welcome Changan to Bowker.

"The brand is new to the UK but already well established internationally. For us, it is a perfect opportunity to bring something fresh to the region and give customers even more choice; all backed by the trusted Bowker name.”

Changan’s line-up includes a mix of electric, hybrid, and petrol vehicles designed for modern drivers. Among the first models to arrive at Bowker will be the Deepal S07, an electric SUV featuring advanced driving technology. The Preston dealership will offer new car sales, servicing, and full aftersales support.

Founded in 1862, Changan is one of China’s longest-established automotive brands, producing millions of vehicles a year and operating in more than 60 countries. Its entry into the UK marks a strategic step in its global development, with a focus on technology-led, sustainable mobility.
