Making work better through financial education

Supporting the physical and mental health of employees is a key responsibility for employers, as healthy employees are more likely to be happy and productive. However, it is equally important to address their financial wellbeing.

Financial stress is a significant contributor to anxiety, and a recent report by the Centre for Economics and Business Research and Aegon (October 2023) highlights the scale of the issue. Financial worries are estimated to cost UK employers £10.3bn annually in lost working days, a sharp increase from £6.2bn two years ago. One way to support employees with financial worries is to provide a programme of financial wellbeing benefits, such as In-House Financial Surgeries.

What Are In-House Financial Surgeries?

At Amber River True Bearing, we offer a full programme of financial wellbeing services, including pre-retirement workshops, financial education sessions, and In-House Financial Surgeries.

These informal sessions, held at the workplace, give employees a chance to meet one-on-one with a qualified financial adviser to discuss their concerns and gain a better understanding of their finances. The sessions are tailored to the needs of participants, with common topics including retirement planning, pension advice, setting financial goals, and investing strategies.

The Benefits of In-House Financial Surgeries

In addition to boosting employees’ financial health, these surgeries are often seen as a valuable perk by employees, while offering minimal costs to employers. Our existing business partners report that these services are highly appreciated by their teams.

Supporting Local Employers with Financial Wellbeing

We recently assisted a major local employer by providing In-House Financial Surgeries to their staff during a programme of redundancies, helping affected staff manage their financial concerns during a challenging time.

“Amber River True Bearing have been extremely responsive to the business and individual colleagues needs. Nothing has been too much trouble in terms of supporting our requests, in particular Maria has gone out of her way to ensure flexible and efficient delivery of sessions. Colleagues have valued the service of individual consultations which are free of charge, at a time to suit them. I thank Maria and the team for their efforts in flexibly catering to our needs as a client.”

If you would like to discuss offering In-House Financial Surgeries in your workplace as part of your employee wellbeing package then please Contact Us or give our Business Development Manager, Maria Dabipi a call on 01257 260011
