Blackburn-based Training for Counsellors are helping to shape the next generation of therapists through trauma-informed and neuro-affirming practices.
Among the team is Linsey Bailey-Rowles MNCPS, MBACP, who has become known not only for her professional expertise but also for the warmth, honesty, and integrity she brings to the company.
Linsey has been part of Training for Counsellors since the start. Alongside running a successful private practice, she brings a wealth of clinical experience and a deep commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed practice.
That breadth of experience underpins her teaching, allowing her to weave together theory and practice that is both accessible and deeply grounded.
Samantha Crapnell, owner, said: “We are so lucky to have Linsey at Training for Counsellors.
"She brings more than just subject matter expertise; she brings heart, vision and a commitment to making our profession more just, inclusive and attuned.
"The steps she is taking, from trauma-informed practice education to progressive curriculum development, are strengthening the fabric of what we offer here.”
Recently Linsey designed and delivered An Introduction to Trauma Informed Practice, a CPD event that brought together counsellors in training, qualified therapists, and supervisors.
Over five hours, participants explored the foundational principles of trauma-informed approaches, learned grounding techniques, and explored an introduction to the neuroscience of trauma.
Feedback from a qualified therapist about the course highlighted the impact “The Introduction to Trauma Informed Practice CPD event was excellent and it is great that Linsey could offer an event that has the potential to have such a positive impact for the emotional safety of therapeutic participants.”
Building on this success, Linsey will be offering further opportunities for practitioners to deepen their knowledge. The Masterclass for Trauma Informed Practice and Interventions will take place in November 2025.
Online CPD dates for both the introduction and the masterclass are set for February and March 2026.
Linsey is also a collaborator on a new CPD event, Developing a Neuro-Affirming Lens in Your Practice, designed to help practitioners to gain a deeper understanding of neurodivergent-related issues.
Beyond CPD contributions, Linsey plays a central role in shaping Training for Counsellors’ Level 4 Counselling Diploma. While the first year focuses on ethical foundations, the second year delves deeper into the complex realities clients bring to therapy. Linsey ensures the curriculum meaningfully explores issues such as chronic illness, cultural identity and race, LGBTQAI+ experience, power and privilege, menopause, and neurodivergence.
Linsey’s teaching philosophy equips trainees not only with knowledge but with the sensitivity and confidence to meet diverse client experiences with skill, humility, and care.
As Samantha added: “Linsey’s journey is one we wholeheartedly celebrate, and we look forward to walking alongside her in the many contributions she is yet to make.”
Training for Counsellors are encouraging counsellors in training, qualified therapists, and supervisors to explore their range of courses and CPD opportunities designed to support professional growth and inclusive practice.
