EcoGiants were delighted to welcome Pendle and Clitheroe Jonathan Hinder MP to their Clitheroe headquarters this week for an in-depth discussion about the future of the retrofit sector, tackling fuel poverty, and how strategic changes in policy could help communities both locally and nationally.
EcoGiants founder Christian Gillibrand hosted the visit, introducing Jonathan to the EcoGiants team and leading a detailed conversation on how cutting red tape, unlocking pre-allocated funding from the big energy companies, and more active support from Parliament could speed up essential energy-saving improvements for households across the county.
EcoGiants is a rapidly growing national force in the energy efficiency sector and is currently on target to turn over £15 million this year.
Their work spans the UK, delivering high-quality retrofit projects that help to reduce energy bills, improve air quality, cut carbon emissions, and increase the long-term value of homes.
As well as delivering retrofit works, EcoGiants has made a major investment in the future of the Ribble Valley by providing accredited training and real-world experience for the next generation of trades and construction professionals.
School and college leavers from the region are already progressing through EcoGiants’ programmes, training to become fully qualified plumbers, electricians, energy surveyors, and project coordinators.
This drive to upskill the local workforce not only addresses the growing demand for skilled labour in retrofit but also provides vital career opportunities for young people in the region.
Christian Gillibrand said: "It was a thoroughly enjoyable and valuable visit. Jonathan was genuinely interested in the work we are doing... not just in improving homes but in improving lives.
"By working together to remove barriers and release vital funding, we can get help to the people who need it faster.
"We sincerely hope that the suggestions and experiences shared today help shape positive decisions in Parliament that deliver real impact both here in Lancashire and across the UK."
EcoGiants actively encourages homeowners, landlords, and tenants to get in touch to find out how they can benefit from pre-allocated funding.
Support is available for eligible properties to carry out improvements such as insulation upgrades, renewable energy installations, and ventilation measures, all helping to lower energy bills, enhance living conditions, and boost property value, all while contributing to a greener future.
Beyond their operational work, EcoGiants remain committed to supporting the local community through sponsorship of Clitheroe FC, with the home ground now proudly known as The EcoGiants Stadium.
EcoGiants continues to champion practical, community-driven solutions that build skills, create jobs, and deliver healthier, more energy-efficient homes for generations to come.
