Clitheroe-based energy firm EcoGiants has achieved PAS 2038 certification, marking a significant step forward in its delivery of large-scale retrofit and decarbonisation projects across Lancashire and beyond.
The accreditation places EcoGiants among a select group of businesses qualified to assess and design whole-house retrofit solutions under the UK’s recognised standard for non-domestic and complex domestic buildings.
It reflects both the company’s continued growth and the increasing demand for compliant, high-quality energy upgrades.
For local authorities, housing providers and commercial clients, PAS 2038 is becoming a critical benchmark. It ensures retrofit projects are properly assessed, designed and managed, with a focus on long-term building performance rather than short-term fixes.
EcoGiants, which operates nationally but remains rooted in the Ribble Valley, is already delivering retrofit at scale in partnership with councils and managing agents. The new certification enables the business to expand its role further, moving into full retrofit assessment, coordination and design.
Christian Richard Gillibrand said: “Retrofit is evolving quickly. It’s no longer just about installing measures, it’s about understanding buildings as a whole and delivering solutions that genuinely perform over time. PAS 2038 gives our clients confidence that projects are being designed properly from day one.”
The milestone comes as Lancashire continues to see increased investment in energy efficiency through programmes such as Warm Homes and wider net zero initiatives. Delivering these schemes effectively requires experienced partners who understand both compliance and delivery on the ground.
EcoGiants has built a strong track record across social housing, commercial properties and community assets, supporting clients through complex retrofit programmes.
With PAS 2038 now secured, the business is positioning itself at the forefront of the next phase of retrofit delivery, where whole-building approaches and robust design standards are expected to play a central role.
Gillibrand added: “The direction is clear. Clients want certainty, quality and accountability. That’s exactly what this standard is designed to deliver, and it’s where we see the future of the industry.”
