New Mental Health Hub Opens in Cleveleys to Meet Soaring Local Need.
A vital new community counselling hub has opened its doors in Cleveleys, offering immediate mental health support to children, young people, and adults across the Fylde Coast.
Founded by the award-winning charity Counselling in the Community, the new Cleveleys hub represents a significant step forward in addressing the area’s growing mental health crisis.
With waiting lists for NHS mental health services often stretching for many months, the hub provides affordable, and in many cases, free access to qualified therapy at the moment it’s needed most.
Stuart, founder of Counselling in the Community, said:
"Every week, we see people in our community who feel they’ve nowhere to turn. This new hub means more people will get the help they need, when they need it, not when a waiting list says they can."
The charity already supports over 700 people each year, with demand rising sharply as local families grapple with the cost-of-living crisis and the long shadow of pandemic-related trauma. The Cleveleys hub includes comfortable counselling rooms, private spaces for crisis support, and a welcoming atmosphere designed to break down the stigma that still surrounds mental health.
But while the need has never been greater, so too has the funding gap. The charity is now calling on local businesses, community leaders, and generous individuals to step forward as sponsors to help keep the new hub open and free to those who cannot afford to pay.
Stuart said: "We have not come this far, only to come this far.
"With the community’s backing, we can make sure that everyone, no matter their circumstances, has a safe place to talk and heal."
