Blackpool businesses can now access fully funded decarbonisation support and grant funding worth up to £5,000, thanks to a new scheme delivered by RKMS Group and funded through Blackpool Council.

Businesses that own or rent premises in Blackpool and pay business rates to Blackpool Council are eligible for a FREE Decarbonisation Plan designed to help them cut energy consumption, reduce carbon emissions, and unlock further funding for sustainability improvements.

Delivered by Chartered Quality Professional John Keen and his expert team at RKMS Group, the scheme offers practical, on-the-ground support for businesses looking to reduce operating costs while taking meaningful steps towards a net zero future.

 What’s Included

Eligible businesses will receive:
A FREE Decarbonisation Plan – a tailored review and report outlining key opportunities to reduce energy usage and carbon emissions.

Grant funding of up to £5,000 – available for approved low-carbon investments with only a 10% contribution required from the business.

Funding can be used towards:

  • Solar PV panels
  • Air Source Heat Pumps
  • Energy-efficient lighting
  • Boiler and heating upgrades
  • ISO Certification (e.g. ISO 14001 Environmental Management)
  • Other low-carbon process and technology improvements

Participants will also receive a FREE Goody Bag, including two Smart Plugs, a Chimney Sheep Wool Draught Seal, and a Temperature and Humidity Monitor.

John Keen, chartered quality professional and managing director of RKMS Group, said: “This initiative is a fantastic opportunity for Blackpool’s business community to take practical, affordable action towards net zero.

Many companies want to be more sustainable but aren’t sure where to start or how to fund the improvements. This scheme removes those barriers by providing expert guidance and grant support, helping local firms save energy, money, and carbon.”

Why Get Involved

With energy costs still high and environmental expectations rising, participating businesses can expect to:

  • Cut energy bills by up to 30 per cent
  • Improve their sustainability credentials
  • Future-proof their business operations
  • Contribute to Blackpool’s long-term low-carbon goals

The scheme is open until January 2026, but spaces are limited. Early registration is encouraged to secure access to the free support and available funding.
