Marketing Lancashire celebrated Lancashire Day 2025 with the reveal of a short film showcasing the very best of the county’s landmarks.
The “This is Lancashire” short was commissioned in collaboration with BBC Radio Lancashire and produced by local videographer Rory Cocker, who is known for Instagram channel Preston Pulse.
Showcasing some of the key landmarks across the county, the video references places that tourists and visitors have claimed resemble others across the UK and beyond.
Highlighting the beauty that can be found on our doorstep, or when visitors are reminded to look up.
The film was premiered at the BBC Radio Lancashire Make a Difference Awards in September, as just one part of the celebration of Lancashire and its people.
It was then kept under wraps until it was revealed to the public via the Marketing Lancashire and Visit Lancashire social media and YouTube channels and was also shown to delegates at Lancashire Business View's Lancashire Day on Thursday 27th November. You can watch the video on YouTube here.
Vikki Harris, marketing and partnerships director of marketing Lancashire said: “Lancashire has always been a ‘Grand Day Out’.
"A place to make unforgettable memories with family and friends, full of impressive landmarks, beautiful locations and fun-filled attractions that generations enjoy and love together.
"This Lancashire Day, we wanted to remind people of the beauty of the region and how much can be seen and visited, often without as many crowds and large entry fees as the ‘dupes’ they are compared to.
“This is Lancashire is our way of highlighting just some of the incredible attractions and stunning scenery that can be found in the region, and it was a pleasure to work on this alongside BBC Radio Lancashire.
"I was so proud to see the work on screen and to be a part of the celebration of amazing Lancashire locals at the Make a Difference Awards in September.”
The “This Is Lancashire” Film has been viewed over 67,000 times so far and is expected to continue to reach new audiences well into December.
Social media activity reached over 5.7million accounts, with the #LancashireDay hashtag gaining 1,660 mentions, and media coverage as a direct result of Marketing Lancashire’s activity had a potential audience of over 23 million people across the world. The #LancashireDay hashtag trended on X for a number of hours throughout the day, with celebrity figures such as The Chase’s Shawn Wallace and The Lancashire Hotpots taking a moment to wish people a ‘Happy Lancashire Day’.
