Northern Trust submits plans for a commercial development in Morecambe

Northern Trust Company has submitted plans for a new multi-let commercial development on the vacant land at Southgate Trade Park, Morecambe.

The proposed scheme will deliver 101,365 sq ft of modern workshop and trade units across 69 units in 11 blocks.

The development is designed to offer a balanced mix of unit sizes to accommodate a wide range of occupier requirements. 

It includes: smaller starter units between 538 – 818 sq ft, ideal for new and early-stage businesses, medium-sized units: 1,087 – 1,658 sq ft, supporting growing enterprises seeking scalable accommodation and larger units: 2,196 – 3,315 sq ft, catering to more established occupiers.

The development will be built to B2/B8 use class standards, promoting a flexible and resilient employment offer at Southgate Trade Park.

If approved, the scheme is expected to create over 250 new jobs and expand the existing park, which currently offers 87,594 sq ft of commercial space, bringing Northern Trust’s total offering in Lancashire to over 600,000 sq ft.
