Site Surveying Services has unveiled a comprehensive brand refresh and new website - marking a significant investment in its identity, digital presence and client experience as the firm approaches its 30th anniversary in 2027.

The Clitheroe-based firm, which has been delivering professional land and geospatial survey across Lancashire, the North West and nationally since 1997, has launched a redesigned visual identity and a completely rebuilt website. The refresh reflects both the scale of the business it has become and the ambition that will carry it through its fourth decade.

Founded in 1997, Site Surveying Services has grown from a Lancashire surveying practice into a multi-discipline geospatial survey firm operating from four offices - Clitheroe, Matlock, Newcastle and Bristol - delivering 15 survey disciplines from a directly employed team.

In 2025 alone, the firm completed over 2,400 survey projects across construction, infrastructure, heritage, defence, environmental and public sector programmes throughout the North West and nationally.

The brand refresh - developed over several months - covers a new visual identity, a full website rebuild with dedicated pages for all 15 survey disciplines, detailed sector pages across 14 industries, and an expanded resources section providing practical guidance for the firm's key client groups.

Alessandra, who leads brand and marketing at Site Surveying, said: “Approaching 30 years felt like exactly the right moment to take stock of where we are and to present ourselves in a way that reflects the business we have become.

"In 1997 we were a regional land surveying practice, since then, we have grown significantly as a business and our previous brand and website no longer reflected who we are or what we deliver.

"We needed something that spoke clearly to the clients we work with - Contracts Managers at tier 1 contractors, Engineering Managers on major infrastructure programmes, developers and planners across the North West and nationally - and that communicated the depth of our capability and the standard we work to.

The story of what we do and who we do it for needs telling clearly - and the brand refresh is how we tell it. We are heading into our 30th year with the right people, the right capability and the right identity. We are proud of where we have come from and confident about where we are going."

Nearly three decades of survey across the North West

The approach to 30 years represents a genuine milestone for a professional services firm built entirely on technical expertise, reputation and the trust of repeat clients.

Since 1997, Site Surveying Services has operated through significant shifts in the survey industry - from total station and GPS survey to laser scanning, UAV LiDAR, BIM delivery and vehicle-mounted mobile mapping - adopting new methodology at each stage without losing the direct, accountable service model that long-standing clients depend on.

In 2025 the business completed over 2,400 survey projects, including comprehensive PAS 128 utility mapping and topographic survey at the BAE Systems facility in Barrow-in-Furness, measured building survey and laser scanning at HMP Manchester, laser scanning for the Eccles Fire Station refurbishment, and survey programmes across education facilities, sports venues, environmental programmes and urban regeneration schemes throughout Lancashire and the North West.

The firm's head office remains in Clitheroe, where it was founded, a deliberate signal of the Lancashire rootedness that has always defined the business.

Looking ahead to the 30th anniversary
With the brand refresh complete and the new website live, Site Surveying Services is planning a series of anniversary activities as the firm approaches 2027 - including a community and client event in Clitheroe, a programme of technical articles marking developments in the survey industry over three decades, and a renewed commitment to the youth development and community work that has become an increasingly important part of the firm's identity.

Sam Knott, director, said: "The 30th anniversary in 2027 is something we are already thinking about carefully.

"It is a moment to celebrate the people who built this business - the clients who trusted us from the early days, the team members who have grown with us and the communities we have been part of throughout. We want to mark it in a way that reflects who we are - proudly Lancashire, professionally excellent and genuinely invested in what comes next.

"The brand refresh is the starting pistol. The best of Site Surveying is still ahead."

A Lancashire business with national reach

The firm runs an active youth development programme - hosting work experience students from schools and colleges across Lancashire, recruiting and developing graduate surveyors and trainee engineers, and engaging with university and college courses across the North West to support the next generation of surveying professionals.

Sam added: "We are a Lancashire business and that matters to us. Our team lives and works in the communities we survey in. The Ribble Valley, East Lancashire, Greater Manchester - these are not markets to us, they are home.

"Supporting East Lancashire Hospice, being part of the Blackburn Rovers Business Club and investing in the next generation of surveyors are all part of the same commitment. As we head towards 30 years, that commitment only grows."
