After the success of Miller Homes supporting over 96 communities across the North West during its first round of 2023’s Community Fund, the second round of funding has now commenced, with its first beneficiary selected.

Sightline, a leading charity organisation in Preston nearby to Miller Homes’ Beacon Park development that is dedicated to supporting individuals with visual impairments, has been selected as the first recipient of the second round of funding from the Miller Homes fund.

The charity has received £1,000 to further its impactful work in assisting and empowering individuals with visual impairments across the North West.

Sightline is committed to improving the lives of visually impaired individuals by providing practical support and resources. The charity offers a range of services, including a helpline for information and guidance, access to rehabilitation programs, and emotional support for individuals and their families. It also organises social activities and events to foster a sense of community and ensure that visually impaired individuals can lead fulfilling lives.

The Community Fund initiative was set up by the builder in September 2022, for local groups to have the opportunity to apply for donations between a minimum of £250 and a maximum of £2,000 as part of Miller Homes’ ongoing commitment to support communities.

The funding provided by the Miller Homes will enable Sightline to enhance their services and expand their reach, ensuring that they can continue to make a significant difference in the lives of those affected by visual impairment. The £1,000 contribution will directly support Sightline's efforts in delivering vital resources and support to individuals in need.

Ian Edwards, charity director of Sightline expressed gratitude for the support, stating: "We are extremely grateful to Miller Homes for their generous contribution to our organisation. This funding will enable us to continue providing invaluable support to individuals with visual impairments and their families. With the assistance of Miller Homes, we can make a real difference in enhancing the lives of those affected by visual challenges."

Clare Noakes, Miller Homes’ sales director for the North West, added: “We are delighted to have selected Sightline as one of the recipients of our Community Fund for 2023. Their dedication to improving the lives of visually impaired individuals aligns perfectly with our values. We believe in making a positive impact in the areas where we build, and Sightline's work exemplifies this commitment. We are proud to support them in their mission and look forward to witnessing the positive outcomes they achieve with our funding."

The Miller Homes Community Fund has been instrumental in providing financial support to numerous community groups across the North West and throughout the UK. The initiative aims to empower local charities and community organisations, ensuring they have the resources needed to continue their valuable work. Through this program, Miller Homes has allocated a total of £100,000 annually across its ten regional offices, supporting a wide range of initiatives that benefit communities nationwide.

Sightline is located close by to Miller Homes’ Beacon Park development in Catterall, which is in its final phase with just a few homes remaining. To find out more about the homes, you can visit the website where you can also register interest or visit the sales centre.
