Preston designer calls on Lancashire suppliers for Barbados villa
Preston-based interior designer Lucy Tattersall has worked on a £4.9m luxury villa in the Royal Westmoreland luxury resort in Barbados.
The property sits on Lancaster Drive in the resort owned by Lancastrian entrepreneur John Morphet, and many of the fabrics and furnishing has been provided by Lancashire suppliers.
The specially commissioned interior design project marks the 25th anniversary of the gated resort which houses 250 villas.
Lucy, who has 20 years of experience and owns Lucy Locketts Interiors, has previously worked on projects as far afield as London, Spain, Cyprus and Gran Canaria.
She said: “I’ve had an incredible career that has taken me all over the world, so to be able to bring my Lancashire influence and inspiration to this magnificent villa at Royal Westmoreland has been an ultimate dream. I just can’t wait to get out there and see my vision come to life."
Companies selected by Lucy include Feblands in Blackpool which supplied lounge furniture, Preston upholster Paul Salthouse in Preston who has worked with Lucy for over 20 years, and fabrics by Art of the Loom in Clitheroe.
The villa Lucy worked on features both a main house and guest cottage. It includes four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms in the main house - all accessed by floor to ceiling sliding glass doors. Private verandas open onto a large pool deck with panoramic views of the resorts golf course and Caribbean sea. It is now fully furbished and available to purchase.
John Morphet, owner of Royal Westmoreland, said: “After working with Lucy for a number of years, both personally and through other business ventures, I knew she was the right person to design this special villa in our 25th year. Seeing her vision come to life from the moment she arrived has been a pleasure and I’m confident that she has created something that a truly discerning owner will fall in love with.”
