Pothole repair machine seals hattrick of award wins for Multevo

A highways specialist that developed an innovative approach to pothole repairs has sealed a hattrick of industry award wins for 2026.

Multevo in Darwen' Recycle, Rejuvenate, Repair (RRR) system was named Product of the Year at the Highways Awards.

Developed in 2025, the RRR system is a UK first in situ recycling patch repair method designed to deliver durable pothole repairs while reducing waste, carbon emissions and the need for additional vehicles and materials.

The latest accolade was presented by comedian and actor Hugh Dennis at the ceremony at the Park Plaza in London on Wednesday (23 September).

The award marks the third major recognition for the Lancashire firm’s RRR system this year, following the RSTA Innovation Award and Green Apple Award.

Multevo’s one machine process repairs road patches in three stages without requiring virgin asphalt. The machine mills the existing road surface to a depth of up to 100mm, crushes the material before mixing it with a low-carbon rejuvenator, and then compacts the resulting 100 per cent regenerated bituminous product ready to reopen to traffic.

By cold recycling the existing road material, the process produces no waste and can reduce emissions by up to 99 per cent compared with conventional repair methods.

The RRR system is one of several recent innovations from Multevo, which has also launched a UK first electric powered mastic boiler for recycled rubber mastic repairs and its range of multi purpose wheel loaders, known as Wille Machines. The firm says further innovations are planned for 2027.
