Preston firm starts work on major Merseyside warehouse development

Work by a Preston construction firm has begun on Huyton 220, a 222,000 sq ft warehouse and distribution facility in Huyton, located in the Liverpool City Region Freeport zone, and part of a £30m pipeline of industrial and logistics developments in the north west.

DJL Construction has been appointed by Linden Hill Capital to deliver the Grade A warehouse and distribution facility at Wilson Road. It follows the completion in June of a 30,000 sq ft Northern Removals Hub for John Mason International at Stopgate Lane, close to Knowsley Business Park.

DJL is now on site with demolition due to begin in the coming weeks and completion targeted for autumn 2027.

Other projects in DJL's portfolio include Titan Business Park, near Preston, and the construction of 68 industrial starter units at Momentum Business Park in Blackburn on behalf of Roundhouse Properties.
