Porsche Centre Preston has confirmed its sponsorship of Preston-based racing driver Holly Crankshaw as she prepares for the 2025 Retro Kart Championship season.
Holly is competing in six national championship rounds between April and September, racing in Class 1B with the Retro Kart Championship. Her kart, a 1974 Zip Shadow with period-correct engines, will carry race number 13. In addition, the 33-year-old may compete in a one-off Open Plate event in October at Fulbeck.
Each championship meeting consists of a Saturday practice and setup day, followed by Sunday racing with three heats and a final. The calendar includes events at Rowrah, Three Sisters, Shenington, Rissington, and Dunkeswell.
Holly said: “It means the world to have Porsche Centre Preston backing me this season. It’s a real family effort for us - my dad’s the mechanic, my partner helps get the kart going on the grid, and having that extra support helps us get to the events and do things properly. I'm aiming to enjoy it, but I’ve definitely got my eye on the title again.”
Holly has already made a winning start to the season. She competed in the ASI Kart Show from the 16th to the 18th of May in Lido di Jesolo, Italy. She won the Ladies Champion Trophy (Coppa Dei Campioni Trofeo Lady) 2025.
Holly previously won the British Championship in 2020 and the GP Plate in the Historic class. She was also runner-up in the European Championship round in 2019 and won the Open Plate in Class Pre89 in 2021. After an injury kept her off track through 2022 and much of 2023, she returned in 2024 with multiple podium finishes in the Pre95 class.
Dan Docherty, new car sales manager at Porsche Centre Preston, said: “Holly’s got a great mix of experience, determination and love for what she does. Backing someone local who’s competing with real commitment and a family-run setup felt like the right thing to do. We’re excited to see how she gets on this year.”
Holly joins another successful young local driver to enjoy support from Porsche Centre Preston. Porsche Centre Preston also continues its sponsorship of young Cadet kart driver Jayan Prakash, who races in the British Kart Championships and other national series during the 2025 season.
