Liverpool ONE, the Northwest’s iconic shopping and entertainment centre, was the location for a 2 day HR CPD training event.

Lancashire based HR & Employment Law Consultancy NORI HR, delivered the bespoke HR CPD training, following a collaboration with nationwide facilities management specialists Linaker and Liverpool ONE.

Jacquie Price, head of business support services and HR manager at Linaker said “As part of our contract to supply facilities management services to Liverpool ONE, we add additional value by providing all our employees with HR CPD training.”

Jacquie continued, “NORI HR & Employment Law, our CPD Training Provider and HR Consultants worked with us to design workshops that would consider the environment our employees would be working in.”

“Much of our contractor work is delivered in public spaces which mean our employees are subject to interaction with both clients and the general public. They can be viewed by the general public as representatives of the building or environment they are visiting, so it is important our employees represent our client in the correct manner.”

“Working with NORI HR, we created 2 bespoke HR CPD accredited workshops around ‘Conflict Management’ and “Customer Service’”.

“Investing in our employees naturally means they benefit from personal development and enhance the service our client receives. The feedback from employees and the client has been superb and has delivered a win-win for all parties”.

Conflict Management and Customer Service

Amrita Govindji-Bruce, managing director at NORI HR, writer and facilitator of the HR CPD training courses said “Conflict Management and Customer Service courses for employees have multiple benefits, particularly in the facilities management, retail and hospitality sectors”.

Amrita explained “In this scenario, Linaker as the contractor and employer, have employees working remotely on a client site within a public space. This means they have a duty of care to provide suitable support, recognition of and protection within the working environment.

“The employee, as a lone worker, is exposed to a public environment and will naturally be required to engage with representatives of the client and members of the public”.

“By providing awareness and learning in ‘Conflict Management’ and ‘Customer Service’, the employee will develop confidence and understanding of their surroundings and responsibilities. This will make them more aware and more confident to be able to respond in a wide range of circumstances.”

“Finally, the client benefits from appointing a contractor that can not only provide a high level of service in facilities management but will be assured the individual can represent both brands in a professional and safe manner”.

HR CPD Training Reviews

Following the 2 day course, feedback from all parties was highly complementary. One delegate commented that they had never experienced such great training !

Jacquie Price added “We can’t recommend working with NORI HR enough. They take time to understand ‘the brief’ and always over deliver”.

“The delegates were engaged throughout the training and all felt they had taken life skills away with them. As a Business, the development of our people is a vital component of our culture and we trust NORI to partner with us to support this.”
