New furniture collection service will boost funds for children’s hospice

Chorley-based removals firm Andrew Porter Ltd has launched a new furniture collection service for its customers in aid of Derian House children’s hospice.

Anyone moving home or office, or using storage services with the firm, based in Huyton Road, Adlington, will be given information about Derian House and offered the chance to donate any furniture or other items for the hospice’s charity shop.

Andrew Porter Ltd crews will collect the items free of charge and deliver them to Derian House’s warehouse in Chorley. The firm has also given the local charity a free self storage unit at its new facility.

Elaine Middleton, corporate and sponsorship fundraiser at Derian House commented: “Furniture in particular can bring in significant donations for Derian House, so we were only too pleased to accept this kind offer, which will increase our stock at no cost to the hospice.

"We also have some other exciting projects in the pipeline with Andrew Porter Ltd that we hope to announce soon.”

Managing director of Andrew Porter Ltd, Tim Aspey, said: “We were approached by Derian House regarding a storage unit and had some meetings to see if there was anything further we could do to help this charity which is so local to us and does such fantastic and important work.
