Safety tips for the lone traveller

Hotels are now a lot more aware that when guests are queueing to be served at reception they should not verbally tell the guest what room they are in because they may be overheard.

For instance for a lone female traveller they would avoid allocating a room on the ground floor or at the very end of an upper floor corridor.

• Tell colleagues or share your itinerary with family
• Arrange a call on arrival at your hotel to confirm you’ve arrived
