Marc Enright has joined the Seriun team leaving his previous role at Blackburn College where he was an assistive technology specialist.

Originally from Surrey, Marc lived in various locations across the South of England, until finally residing in Hyndburn where he lives now with his two children: Madison (14) and Jaiden (9).

He has achieved a plethora of academic and industry qualifications including level 4 in Customer Service and Business Studies, along with various accolades in the field of Assistive Technology. He more recently attained the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification and also has sailing and kayaking qualifications as well as an active RQF first aid certificate.

Before joining Seriun, Marc worked for Blackburn College as an assistive technology trainer/assessor, helping those with special needs and disabilities get the best they can from technology.

He then worked as an IT support engineer for Stonehouse Logic. He transitioned to Chess ICT following their acquisition of Stonehouse in 2018, but after a few months returned to Blackburn College as assistive technology specialist.

However, his passion for hands-on tech prevailed and he made the move to Seriun as service desk engineer. As part of his new role he will be ensuring IT solutions are tailored to meet Seriun’s customers exact needs.

Marc commented: “Moving to Seriun and back into IT is an exciting step in my career. I thoroughly enjoy working closely with customers and helping them use the technology they have to give them optimal results. It’s all about creating the best experience for our customers that we can.”

Seriun’s customer experience manager Matthew Whittaker said: “It’s crucial we have the right people serving our customers. They need to be passionate about service excellence and pull out all the stops to really delight our customers. Marc is a great fit and is already proving to be a big hit with our customers.”

In his spare time Marc enjoys spending time with his children. He supports his son Jaiden playing Rugby League three times a week for the Accrington Wildcats. He also volunteers for UK charity AbilityNet, helping disabled adults and children use computers and IT to improve their lives at work and home. When he gets chance, Marc enjoys sailing, kayaking and walking with friends.

Over the years Marc has landed quite a number of claims to fame – he’s appeared in the music video of “Come On Eileen” by Dexys Midnight Runners, met quite a few famous people, and had afternoon tea with Prince Charles, who gifted him his tie! Nice work Marc!
