Making things official

accreditations.jpg

At Fagan & Whalley, we recognise the importance of industry-recognised accreditations in demonstrating our continued commitment to excellence.

For this reason, we’ve worked hard over the years to acquire numerous accreditations, and are also members of various sector-leading trade associations.

But what do each of these mean, and how do these affect our clients?

Let’s take a look…

Palletforce

Fagan & Whalley are proud Founding Members of Palletforce – the UK’s leading distribution network with over 100 member companies. With palletised distribution across the UK and Europe, innovative IT solutions and flexible warehousing solutions – Palletforce provides same and next-day delivery services across the whole of Europe.

As a result of our affiliation with Palletforce, our clients can send smaller consignments with confidence. We provide collection and delivery services for our local BB and BL postcodes and have built our Frontier Park Palletforce operation to be one of the best-performing within the network. In fact, in 2017 and 2018, we were recognised at the Palletforce Awards for numerous achievements, including our work transporting client goods to Ireland, Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy and Spain across several industries.

BRCGS Storage Certification

We are thrilled to announce that both of our warehouses (Frontier Park and Burnley Bridge) have received the highest possible AA-grade BRCGS rating. This means that all of our customers can feel assured that their food products and perishable items will be stored and distributed safely with us here at Fagan & Whalley, which is something we’re rather proud of!

Formerly the British Retail Consortium (BRC), the BRCGS sets international standards for food safety, used by over 26,000 suppliers in 130 countries. These standards provide evidence that an organisation is able to meet regulatory requirements for the safe storage and distribution of food products, avoiding cross-contamination between food products and providing protection for the end consumer.

ISO 9001

Here at Fagan & Whalley, being ISO 9001 certified is yet another way to showcase our high standards and commitment to excellence. The certification provides proof of our ability to meet customer and regulatory requirements and reassures clients that we are able to maintain consistency in our storage and distribution services.

The ISO 9001 certification is the international standard that presides over the quality management systems of all major organisations across almost all sectors. The certification has been adopted by over 1 million businesses worldwide and demonstrates the capabilities and commitment required to consistently meet industry standards and expectations.

Road Haulage Association

Meanwhile, we are also proud members of the Road Haulage Association (RHA). The RHA is the UK’s only trade body solely dedicated to commercial vehicle operators. With over 8,500 members, the RHA works closely with the government and local authorities to campaign on topics such as speed limits, roadside facilities, Clean Air Zones, and even overgrown roadside trees!

For our team at Fagan & Whalley, working alongside the RHA is a true honour and not something we take for granted. In fact, we were lucky enough to have been visited by the RHA on the 21st of October as part of National Lorry Week – where, alongside the local MP for Burnley (Antony Higginbotham), they came along to our Padiham Depot to shine a spotlight on the great success of our Future-bound driving scheme!

Soil Association – Organic Standards Accreditation

Furthermore, we are also exceptionally pleased to have received the Organic Standards accreditation from The Soil Association. This demonstrates our capacity to store, package and distribute organic food and drink products in accordance with strict quality standards that  enable us to offer our services to those in the organic food and drink industry.

As part of our efforts to achieve and maintain this accreditation, we regularly audited our facilities and warehouses to ensure that they met the required standards for storing and distributing all organic produce within the UK.

Driver CPC

Fagan & Whalley are also an approved training centre for the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC). We are exceptionally proud of this, as we believe it is crucial to ensure we’re doing our bit in making sure the roads are safe!

The Driver CPC is a qualification for professional drivers of lorries over 3.5 tonnes (amongst other specifications). It was introduced in 2009 for lorry drivers, aiming to improve road safety and maintain high driving standards across the UK and Europe.

United Kingdom Warehousing Association

We are also a member of the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA). The UKWA is the leading trade organisation within the logistics industry and exists to promote best practices and high standards of warehousing within the sector.

With over 900 members, the UKWA supports Fagan & Whalley in operating safely, ethically and profitably – whilst upholding the industry standards and legislative requirements. The UKWA also helps represent the views of our industry to the government, ensuring that we’re able to receive the support we need to be our very best.

Transport Association

Finally, we are a proud member of the Transport Association, which comprises around 60 haulage companies and provides a nationwide network of 4,000 vehicles over 150 sites! As part of our membership, we offer professional transport, storage and distribution services to retailers and manufacturers throughout the UK and Europe. It’s a great honour to be a part of such a diverse and vast network of industry experts!

If you would like any further information on any of our accreditations, then please get in touch with our team here or give us a call on 01282 771983. We’d love to hear from you!
