Lancaster-based Like Technologies has donated £5,000 to CancerCare following a year of fundraising by staff.
The company, which provides specialist engineering support to clients including EDF, Sellafield, Thales and Cavendish Nuclear, selected CancerCare as its chosen charity following a company-wide vote.
Fundraising activities included a charity quiz night at the Mazuma Stadium, bake sales and festive events, while operations manager Andy Davy raised £1,878 by running the London Marathon in April.
With staff activities generating more than £4,475, the business made an additional contribution to take the final total to £5,000.
Kate Houlden, managing director of Like Technologies, said: “CancerCare does wonderful work across North Lancashire and South Cumbria, supporting adults, children and families affected by cancer, life-shortening illness and bereavement.
“We were pleased to play a small part in supporting that work and would like to thank our colleagues, customers, suppliers and the wider community for helping us reach the £5,000 total.”
Claire Mason, head of fundraising and marketing at CancerCare, said: “We cannot thank the team at Like Technologies enough for their support.
“They’ve had a phenomenal year of fundraising, truly putting their all into challenges, activities and events.”
