Hampton by Hilton Blackburn welcomes a new sales manager

Tom Chesterton Appointment.png.png

Hampton by Hilton Blackburn is delighted to welcome Tom Chesterton as the hotel’s new Sales Manager, a seasoned hospitality professional with over 25 years of industry experience, a passion for people, and strong connections across the Lancashire business community.

Tom joins the hotel at an exciting time as Hampton by Hilton Blackburn continues to grow its presence within the local market, supporting businesses with corporate accommodation, meeting space, and group travel solutions right on the M65 Corridor.

A career shaped by world-class hospitality, and Lancashire beginnings

With a career spanning luxury hotels, international brands, and even Premier League hospitality, Tom brings a wealth of commercial expertise to the role.

He began his hospitality journey within the luxury health and fitness sector before discovering his passion for hotels and venue sales while working with Rocco Forte Hotels. From there, he progressed to a key account role at The Lowry Hotel, Manchester’s first five-star property, where he helped shape sales and client relationship strategies.

Tom later joined Manchester United Football Club as a Senior Account Manager, forging partnerships with executive members, facility holders and commercial partners across the North West and beyond. His work focused on relationship-led sales, a skill that continues to define his approach today.

What makes Tom’s move even more meaningful is his connection to the area. As a former Business Studies student at Blackburn College (1998–2000), returning to Blackburn marks a full-circle moment.

Tom said: “Being back in Blackburn feels like coming home.

“This community shaped my early ambitions, and I’m proud to now represent a brand that’s as passionate about people as I am.”

Supporting Lancashire’s business community with flexible, reliable hotel solutions

Hampton by Hilton Blackburn has quickly become a preferred base for organisations across Lancashire thanks to its modern facilities, warm hospitality and strategic location beside the Frontier Park Business Hub.

With 152 contemporary guest rooms, free parking, EV charging, an onsite fitness centre, and the signature complimentary Hampton hot breakfast (including freshly baked waffles), the hotel is perfectly positioned for corporate stays, project work, contractor accommodation, and business travel across East Lancashire.

The hotel also offers a bright, adaptable meeting room suitable for interviews, team sessions or client meetings, an ideal solution for local businesses looking for flexible space with seamless service.

Tom’s focus will be on building and strengthening partnerships with Lancashire businesses, supporting organisations in:

- Corporate travel and accommodation needs
- Meeting and event bookings
- Group stays (including training groups, tours and project teams)
- Long-stay and contractor accommodation
- Local venue collaborations and community partnerships

Strengthening hospitality connections across Lancashire

Tom’s appointment reflects Hampton by Hilton Blackburn’s continued commitment to supporting and elevating the Lancashire business community.

His relationship-driven approach and deep understanding of corporate travel make him a valuable partner for organisations seeking reliable accommodation near Blackburn, Accrington, Preston, Burnley and the wider region.

John Coulter, general manager said: “Tom is a brilliant addition to our team.

“His experience, warmth and genuine passion for hospitality align perfectly with our Hamptonality ethos, making every interaction personal and every stay just right.”

Get in touch

Tom is already connecting with local businesses, venues and organisations across the county. If you’re looking for corporate accommodation, meeting space, or a trusted hotel partner in Lancashire, he’d love to hear from you.
