Lancaster based creative agency Hotfoot has designed and developed a new website for Cincinnati Shakespeare Company.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is a resident ensemble theatre company bringing Shakespeare and the classics to life for all in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Hotfoot was selected to undertake the project following a competitive pitch due to a combination of the agency's extensive experience in the arts, its expertise in undertaking integrations with the Spektrix ticketing platform, and its commitment to developing websites that offer an outstanding user experience with advanced accessibility features.

"We were incredibly fortunate to discover Hotfoot through Spektrix's preferred partners list. After evaluating several companies, we chose Hotfoot for their impressive portfolio, friendly team, and fair pricing. Launching a big project can often be daunting, but Hotfoot consistently impressed us with their process," said Jeanna Vella, director of marketing and data analytics, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company.

"They began by thoroughly understanding our brand and mission. Their team genuinely engaged with us, learning about our core values, notably our commitment to 'feeding the dialogue' and our brand’s playful and spirited vibe. They grasped not only the aesthetics like colours and logos but also the essence of what makes our brand unique. This deep understanding translated into a website that will hopefully resonate with both our long-standing patrons and potential new visitors.

"Hotfoot's approach to design focuses on the user experience, steering clear of the common pitfall of being too insular. They crafted a forward-thinking website that accentuates the experience of attending a live performance, enhancing the customer journey from start to finish. They ensured the ticket-buying process was as seamless as possible, which is crucial in today's market where any friction can lead to lost sales.

"The quality of their work is matched by their enthusiastic team. Throughout our collaboration, I never felt like just another client. It was clear that everyone at Hotfoot was invested in our project’s success and eager to see us thrilled with the results. Their support during the launch and ongoing responsiveness to any adjustments have solidified a digital presence that is not only tailored to our needs but also adheres to industry best practices."

Eddie Bradshaw, Hotfoot’s project lead, said: “We are increasingly working with clients in different countries and time zones, but we have processes in place that make collaborating at a distance a really seamless process. We are thrilled to have delivered this website for Cincinnati Shakespeare Company that meets all of their objectives, and we look forward to working closely with this amazing arts organisation in the years ahead.”

Hotfoot's work in the arts includes undertaking projects for Lancaster Arts and the Dukes in Lancashire, Windermere Jetty and Rosehill Theatre in Cumbria, Rich Mix in East London, Jacksons Lane Arts Centre in North London, and many others.

The agency was recently nominated for two awards at the Prolific North Creative Awards 2024 for a marketing campaign undertaken for Blackburn with Darwen Council and a brand identity for the innovative green technology start-up Onunda.
