Blackpool based marketing agency Happy Creative, has been appointed by Blackpool Public Health to support the team with a wide range of marketing activities.
The work will include behaviour-change campaigns, annual reports and ongoing programme communications.
The appointment follows a relationship that spans more than a decade, during which Happy have supported Blackpool Public Health on multiple projects and tenders.
Central to the partnership is a focus on helping people in Blackpool make healthier decisions in ways that feel achievable, relevant and grounded in everyday life.
Happy Creative’s approach to public health campaigns goes far beyond awareness and actively supports behaviour change.
Its method is aimed at understanding audiences, their circumstances and the barriers they face and is greatly informed by the COM-B model of behaviour change, which considers Capability, Opportunity and Motivation as the key drivers of behaviour.
Over the last decade the partnership has delivered some of the borough’s most recognisable initiatives. These include the GULP campaign (Give Up Loving Pop) which encourages children and families to reduce sugary drink consumption, smoking cessation campaigns, and the design and production of annual public health reports.
Happy Creative has also led on large-scale creative campaigns such as Green Dot, a violence prevention strategy focused on empowering people to act when they witness potentially harmful situations.
The Get Vocal programme, a borough-wide mental health campaign promoting the five ways to wellbeing.
As well as the HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) programme, helping showcase the impact of partnership working across schools, community organisations and local providers, and highlighting the role of prevention and early intervention.
Krisztina Szigeti, Happy Creative account manager, said: “I’m delighted to be continuing our partnership with the Blackpool Public Health team; it means a great deal to us.
"They’re such an inspiring group to work with, and their passion and commitment to the community really shines through. We’re proud to support work that makes a genuine difference to people’s lives across Blackpool.”
