Blackburn-based eBusiness UK has won a significant tender to work with a retailer of tractors and landscaping machinery as it expands its online presence as part of major growth plans.

The web development specialist will be assisting GGM Groundscare, which retails new and used equipment, and PSD Groundscare, which supplies dealerships, to raise their profile and improve the frequency and value of their sales.

The investment in an upgraded online presence follows the company’s purchase of an additional location in Haydock, which adds to its successful Colne operation.

The company’s two depots supply north west companies with a range of groundscare machinery and more than one million parts, sourced from global brands such as Hayter, Kawasaki and Kubota.

A bespoke solution to increase sales

eBusiness UK will now build two new websites using bespoke ecommerce technology which will help promote the company’s brand online as well as harnessing powerful ecommerce software to automate much of the sales process.

The sites have also been designed to help maximise revenues through upselling and cross-selling, and eBusiness UK will also support the newly developed websites with an online marketing campaign to raise awareness of the company.

Customer retention through improved user experience

The sites will also work harder for the user. In addition to improved usability and navigation, a thorough archive of useful technical resources has been added which allows dealers as well as prospective and existing customers to learn more about he machinery through product videos, brochures, operator manuals and other useful information.

Creating a secure account through the site also gives access to customer-specific pricing and promotions.

The new sites have also been developed to be mobile-friendly, which makes them easier for all users to browse, and improves their visibility on the major search engines.

Building trust through a great first impression

Chris Gibson, managing director of GGM and PSD, said: “We are looking to expand our business and connect with more potential customers across the north west.

“This new website will help us improve traffic volume and will improve our conversion rates, which are two vital elements of our growth strategy.”

Chris added: “The nature of our business and the high value products we sell means that we must establish a solid, trustworthy first impression for customers to consider buying from us. Our websites may be the first time an individual sees us, so it’s imperative that they represent us well.”

eBusiness UK was chosen to develop the websites after winning a tender for the contract.

Nasir Kothia, director of eBusiness UK, said: “GGM Groundscare and PSD Groundscare are two companies which are on the up and we’re delighted that they turned to us for help on their journey.

“We will use our decades of experience in the ecommerce sector - and our own experiences building Time2 into a multi-million-pound success - to help GGM and PSD not only grow their sales volume, but also make handling the orders much easier.

“This solution will raise awareness of the business, improve customer experience and help the owners meet their ambitious growth targets.”

Chris added: “Although, we have worked with the eBusiness UK team before and know that they are great guys to work with, it is our policy to put all new work out to tender.

“However, eBusiness UK proved once more that they are thorough in what they do and they brought many innovative ideas to the table. They were the clear first choice for us for this project.”

Work has already begun mapping out the next phase of the project, which will see GGM and PSD’s order books, in-house accounting and stock management seamlessly integrated to speed up much of the complex and time-intensive sales process.Automating many manual tasks will allow the team to save valuable time and resources which can be used to support the organisation’s growth plans.
