A fundraising appeal has been launched by a Burnley charity to repair a vandalised youth and community van.
Officials from Participation Works were 'devasted' after their van was broken into and targeted by thieves over the weekend of August 9-10.
Lynne Blackburn, director, said: "This van isn’t just a vehicle it’s a safe space, a mobile hub of fun, learning, and support for hundreds of young people and elderly members of our community.
"It carries games, sports equipment, crafts, and the tools our youth workers use to create moments of enjoyment, learning and support.
"Now, almost everything of value inside has been stolen. The thieves have left behind shattered windows, broken locks, damaged cabinets, and a trail of destruction.
"The impact has been immediate and heartbreaking. We had activities planned every single day this summer — from youth engagement sessions to community gatherings for older residents. All of that has been thrown into uncertainty.
"Our van is now off the road until we can replace the stolen items and repair the damage."
Lynne said that the GoFundMe page will 'help cover the cost of repairs and replacement equipment'.
She added: "Every single donation, no matter the size, will help us get back out into the community where we’re needed most."
"If you can, please donate and share this message. Together, we can turn this moment of heartbreak into one of hope."
