Leading North West housebuilder Kingswood Homes is celebrating the first home completions at Horden Meadow, the newest phase of the award-winning Green Hills development in Blackburn.

These homes are delivered in partnership with Together Housing Group and offer shared ownership and affordable rent opportunities to homebuyers.

This milestone marks an exciting moment for the development, with the first residents moving into high quality two, three and four-bedroom homes.

These first completions coincide with Kingswood maintaining its prestigious 5 star HBF status for the fifth consecutive year, demonstrating the company's dedication to exceptional build quality and customer service.

James Brown, architectural director at Kingswood Homes, said: "We're excited to welcome the first homeowners to Horden Meadow.

"These homes are built to the same exceptional five star standards as all our properties, featuring innovative eco-technology and premium fixtures throughout.

"With over 50 per cent of homes already sold off plan on this phase, Horden Meadow has already proven popular with homebuyers looking for quality and affordability."

The shared ownership scheme at Horden Meadow allows buyers to purchase a share of their home starting from as little as 10 per cent up to 75 per cent and pay rent on the remaining portion.

Residents can increase their share over time as their circumstances change through staircasing, with the option to eventually own 100 per cent of their home.

Homes available through affordable rent at Horden Meadow are achieving carbon zero status, achieving an impressive 106 per cent CO2 reduction on average over current building regulations, exceeding the Future Homes Standard.

All properties at Horden Meadow are 'tenure blind', meaning there is no visual difference between shared ownership, affordable rent, and open market homes, ensuring all residents enjoy the same premium living experience.

The shared ownership and affordable rent buying opportunities at Horden Meadow provide accessible routes to homeownership for people from all backgrounds and age ranges.

Residents at Horden Meadow will enjoy all the benefits of the thriving Green Hills community. The development features nine distinct areas of open green space, equivalent to four football pitches, including beautiful wildflower meadows and a linear park providing ample opportunity for outdoor recreation and connection with nature.

Green Hills has established itself as a vibrant community with regular seasonal celebrations and events that bring residents together. With over 200 homes now occupied across the wider development, new homeowners at Horden Meadow will be joining an established, welcoming neighbourhood.

All homes at Horden Meadow feature over £16,000 worth of energy-saving features including solar PV panels, shower heat recovery systems, and enhanced insulation, reflecting Kingswood's commitment to sustainable living.
