Coulter delivers office of the decade for Business Insight 3

Leading North West design and fit-out company, Coulter Office Interiors, has delivered a ‘stand-out office environment’ for Preston technology firm, Business Insight 3 (Bi3).

The refurbishment, which reflects Bi3’s innovator reputation, provided the prefect venue for their ten-year anniversary celebrations in November.

The firm appointed Coulter to design and fit-out their new office at the heart of Preston’s Technology Centre following a rigorous tendering process.

Coulter transformed the 2,200 sq ft space into a high-tech, collaborative environment suited to the firm’s pioneering brand. A key part of this design involved restructuring the building to connect three previously separate offices to enhance communication and foster the company’s sociable culture.

The main operational area features two open plan rooms housing the sales and technical teams, each containing a cellular glass pod for the department directors to work in. The sales office is also equipped with six bench desks to provide optimal working space for each employee. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls were installed throughout the main area to create the illusion of height and maximise the limited natural daylight, a key driver of workforce productivity.

To mirror Bi3’s cutting-edge image, Coulter recommended a modern, minimalist colour scheme consisting mainly of white and greys. Coulter contrasted the contemporary furnishings with a nod to Preston’s industrial past, rewiring the office’s power cables in galvanised steel conduits and installing brick-effect wallpaper to add character to the space.

In addition to the office area, Coulter created an experience centre for client meetings. Complete with secluded LED lighting, the room features laminated panelled walls, glass writing boards and six display monitors, catering for Bi3’s technological needs. Vinyl graphics and award plaques added aesthetic interest to the walls, as well as conveying the company’s journey over the last decade.

Coulter also installed a state-of-the-art kitchen and breakout area, featuring industrial and gloss grey cabinets and a standing height bar, which acts as an informal meeting place for the team to work and socialise.

Commenting on the new office, Business Insight 3’s managing director, Glen Higson, said: “The service provided by Coulter was first-class on every level and we are delighted with the end result. They understood the brief completely, delivering fresh ideas, advice and updates at each stage of the process.

“Coulter have created a stand-out office environment, true to our brand, enabling us to make a statement while providing the team with a more comfortable space to work in. Our clients and partners were equally as impressed during the grand unveiling at our ten-year anniversary celebrations.

“On time, accommodating and interested, I would highly recommend Coulter to any organisation seeking to transform their workplace.”
